Sponsorship
Sponsorship is a truly awesome privilege, but is also an awesome responsibility. It is more than running our fingers through the phone book and deciding “this looks like a good person to invite to a Walk”. What a privilege it is to introduce or reintroduce someone to Christ through a Walk to Emmaus. If you have attended Walk closings, you have heard with your own ears the wonderful experiences of so many who have been blessed in exciting ways by being a part of an Emmaus weekend. Sponsorship is also a huge responsibility, one that should not be considered lightly. The act of sponsorship should be bathed in prayer because it is truly God who should decide who we will sponsor, as well as the right time to extend the invitation. It is good to remember that Walk to Emmaus is not right for everyone so invite God into the process.
